Venue Relations

Comments/Questions

  • Cabaret stage was awesome

  • Back in NY… there was one box office manager for 1 venue for that entire run. That helped. Since they knew everything that was going on.

  • EdFringe has participants and for venues, they have counsels to help them to help people with venues and all that. Neutral fringe society.

  • Annoying: even at the fringe bar the sign only listed everything with the fringe venues. (Ben - board will not come back)

Ticketing System

  • Great that it listed names and discount codes, etc

  • Love the system

  • What about a discount code for PWYW? (Ben Hill - On the list)

  • Ticket list should be in alphabetical order for venues

  • Huge traffic jams in some venues

Fringe Communications Cont

Questions/comments-

  • NY fringe sets everyone up on Salesforce chatter, they have also done facebook groups - so what about venue facebook group (what we’re hearing is more facilitative ways to talk within your venue and with everyone)

  •  Really appreciating having personal links to ticketing. (These pages will be up forever— or foreseeable future)

  • Townhalls were super useful for the first year participants - so spread the word about how great and important those are for new people.

  • Is there a way to customize url for name of the show vs number? (note taken)

Fringe Communications

Questions/Comments

  • Really enjoyed the townhalls recorded to listen to in the car, etc

  • Matt (theatre asylum) was really great about communication and getting back quickly

  • So great to see a history of messages in the website. (That’s there, according to Dave — but it’s obviously not super clear)

  •  Twitter was great, but what about forums or chatrooms? (We will be adding twitter chats — also facebook groups have been good for other fringes)

  • Chatroom would be better alternative than maybe individual messaging

  • Did appreciate immediate short link for ticketing

Registration Continued (Final)

  • Do you need to name a production company? — No, you can make it whatever you want (Meghan)

  • Can you explain preview week? — Sure, it’s to build some buzz and allow people to invite press

Registration Continued

Comments/Questions

  • Some issues w/admin and seeing the box-office (Ben will address personally)
  • Offer-Pending glitch mentioned (Someone didn’t click the right box, but fringe will look into it)
  • Registration is great and easy to use (yay more positive comments)
  • Issues with projects for cabaret, multiple projects, kinda confusing
  • Biggest issue for one participant is venues calling them back
  • Another participant is saying only 1 venue contacted them back after reaching out to 12 during registration

Ever have an issue or question w/registration always email us! support@hollywoodfringe.org

Registration

Audience Questions and Comments

  • When will 2013 registration start? — Feburary 1st, but not announced yet  (ben hill)

  • Is there a way to have the fee lower for short runs? — We do, for 1 performance or free (ben hill)

  • Participant talking about NYC fringe process. He loves the Hollywood Fringe.

  • Process was very easy and friendly

  • Issue: we could not add someone as an admin on a project since they were an admin on a past project.  (Noted as a bug, Fringe will look specifically at this, but Ben is revamping admin side)

Post Fringe Town Hall Agenda

Hello Fellow Fringers!

This is your final reminder to join us [today], Wednesday, September 5th at 7:00 PM (doors at 6:30) at Theatre Asylum for this year’s Post-Fringe Town Hall. The forum will be conducted by our Outreach and Communications Directors (Meghan McCauley and Stacy Jones Hill) and will be a great chance to share your vision of how the Fringe can provide a richer experience in years to come. Space is limited, so please RSVP to guarantee your spot. We will follow the Town Hall with an informal and friendly gathering at a nearby watering hole TBA.

To give you a better idea of what we’d like to discuss, we’ve included our agenda below along with some possible topics. Think something’s missing? Feel free to send a note to support@hollywoodfringe.org and we’ll do our best to touch on your suggestions (but the best way to assure that we cover something is to show up and talk about it!).

There are a number of ways that you can follow along from another location if you aren’t able to attend. We’ll be live-streaming the event on our Facebook page(thanks to our friends at Bitter Lemons), as well as live-blogging on our Tumblr and taking questions from Twitter.

Hope to see you there!

All the Best,

Ben Hill, Festival Director
